Yesterday we had our class Eid and Christmas party. Thank you to everyone who brought in such delicious food. We really enjoyed eating it!

The children looked beautiful in their outfits, we even created a video of their fashion parade which the children really enjoyed watching!

We also saw Santa and he was good enough to bring us some board games to enjoy in our class. The children have already started to play with them.

Everybody had a good time and all the teachers were amazed at what fantastic dancers we have in Year 1!

Here are some photos of our fantastic afternoon!

At the end of the party we gave Mr Fitz his cards as he is leaving us to go travelling. We will miss him very much! Good luck and come back soon!

This week we have been making our classroom look beautiful. 1 Peach have shown all the teachers how well they can follow instructions by making some super snowflakes, they are on our windows and paper chains which are hanging all across the classroom. We have also made alien masks for our home corner which is going to be a space station next half term and animal masks for our jungle reading corner. I am amazed at how artistic all the children in the class are; it's fantastic!

We also wrote some super sentences by writing to Father Christmas and telling him what presents we would like! Here are some great examples of work, we have sent all of them to Lapland and will see after the holidays if any of us were lucky enough to get some of these presents!

Tomorrow is going to be our class party to celebrate Eid and Christmas and the New Year. The children may wear their own clothes all day. I will put some more photos on tomorrow so you can see all their lovely outfits. Please make sure you bring in food that can be easily shared out between the children as the food will be served in class and we won't have any cutlery etc.... And please NO NUTS!

Super scientists

This half term we have been learning about light and dark. The children have been working extra hard to became super scientists and carry out experiments to find which materials let light in and which ones don't. They have been busy sorting out materials and are now creating a health and safety light booklet armed with all their information from the lessons! We ahave been very impressed with Hamza who has a very scientific mind!

Happy Eid!

We had a lovely day yesterday looking at all the children in their party clothes. I especially loved seeing the boys in their suits! Everyone looked very smart. I hope you all had a happy Eid or enjoyed your day off on Monday and thank you to all the parents who made sure their children came back to school on Tuesday.
